Overview

The Stem Cell Processing Section is a high complexity laboratory committed to providing its customers a quality Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell (HPC) processing, storage and shipment program, and is located within the existing facilities of Blood Systems Laboratories in Tempe, AZ.

The facility is divided into functional areas to ensure separation of activities and thus reduce the risk of product mix-up and cross contamination, and consists of the following areas:

  • Gowning Room
  • Laboratory Room
  • Storage Area
  • Freezer Room
Our Laboratory is accredited by FACT and AABB (see accreditation)  to process both autologous and allogeneic HPC (Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells) products. We have agreements with different Clinical Transplant Programs in the Valley, supporting them with the processing of the HPC products collected mainly by apheresis, starting from sampling, labeling and finally stored in vapor phase liquid nitrogen until those products are required for transplant.
